Thank You Ben
Midsouthcru.com looks like it did as the last day of Encounter09, with the post of “We’re On the News!” and with over ten blog posts proceeding. You might be asking yourself, Who put all that stuff together and does he really exist in real life?
The answer is, yes, he does really exist and he goes by, Ben Meredith. (Yeah, thats right the same guy that you saw on the big screen...

Excited to live out Jesus Christ
So, the past few days I have been mulling over how to wrap up this blog. To tell ya the truth I don’t want to. I want the experiences of Encounter to last a lifetime. But, then it hit me. They DO last a lifetime. The truth that was spoken this past week has always been apart of my life as well as yours.
I have begun to unpack the lessons that Dr. Mark Liederbach taught and God is revealing...

Legendary
At 1:05AM this morning a hodge-podge of students crammed themselves into elevators and road them down to the first floor. This doesn’t sound odd for Encounter, but when ya throw in techno music, strobe lights, and NERF swords, you have a totally different animal. A Flash Rave Animal. And it was viscously awesome!
Starting at the 17th floor and stopping at each one we grew in size and hype...
The Food Court Guide
So CruTru09 is rockin’ right along and according to Twitter people are absolutely loving it and truly engaging in worship and message. (Remember to tweet with #CruTru09)
Since we are now all here, there are 1,300 college students in need of food. Conveniently, there is a mall right next door and it boasts a good food court. It is the most convenient but is it really worth it? Well I am here...
Just Walk
So the day has finally come. It has been anticipated more then birthdays, Christmas, and probably the start of school. The 28th of December, a date in history that has never had as much meaning to us until now; the day, Encounter09: Christ the Truth, begins. With every school in the mid south region rushing to a city which also never has had as much meaning to us until now; Greensboro, NC.
Even...

I Wanted To Throw Up
I felt the color drain from my face, the warmth of my body vanished. I shifted in my seat trying to settle the sudden uncomfortableness. My mind began to race with doubt, thoughts of unworthiness, thoughts of my mistakes, thoughts of rejection. When my campus director finished with the details of sharing our faith with the Greensboro Community, I wanted to throw up.
Yeah I was a leader of Cru on...

This is your spiritual family, this is a family...
Compared to what you devoured on this warm Turkey Day, the 1lb buffalo burger looks feasable. Shuffled into line at Fuddruckers that thought runs through your mind. Then your bible study guys chime in, Dude, you can sooooo own that burger. How about a milk-shake. Talk about a man meal. You wipe the sweat from your brow as you step up to the teller, you feel your heart beat slower as you glance...

You might consider the charge after you read this
So when you sign up for Encounter09 at midsouthcru.com there is an option for a refrigerator to be in your room for an extra $35 bucks. You might want to consider the charge after you read this.
When I went to Encounter for my first time last year my buddy Steven and I decided that we would save some money (since we are poor college students.) So we bought some deli meat, bread, and the all the...
Dear Potential Encounter Attendee,
This letter is sent to you due to awesomeness overload. From your campus or other venues you have been bombarded with promos, testimonies, pictures, itineraries, skits, as well as morse code and smoke signals pushing Encounter. You are probably thinking, Cru is my social circle as well as my outreach to my campus, I need a break from it all this winter. Just me and Jesus.
I have been in your...
Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift...
– Hebrews 2:1
This verse came alive to me when Christ revealed to me that I (as well as some of you) have pages upon pages of notes of lessons taught and shared at Encounter last year. Look back upon those pages, and let God reveal more to you.
As for people that haven’t been to...

"THE POOL IS CLOSED"
Pack your swim suit, there’s a pool. That’s right a flashback to the days of childhood that whenever the family traveled that hotel better have a swimming pool or you’d pitch a fit. Well it’s back, pool time in a big swanky hotel with that intoxicating chlorine smell and those abnormally small pieces of sandpaper, known as pool towels. Not only does this pool include those...
Remember those crazy 2009 glasses you wore
Remember those crazy 2009 glasses you wore, and that dorky “Happy New Year” crown, with that 50 cent party blower jutting from your lip; as you stared into Times Square through your television. (If you were lucky you had the HD one, so every bulb of the dropping ball looked extra real, I didn’t have that privileged.) As the ball hit the new numbers the New Year came, you blinked;...

Money doesn't grow on trees, it grows in better...
So early registration is in full swing for CruTru09 and I know being a college student that waiting till the last possible second to register is very tempting. But I have a proposal , to pay for CruTru09 now and get a wicked discount.
Some say that money doesn’t grow on trees and I would agree. It grows in better places, here are a few species of them that I discovered, researched, and...

So you find yourself driving
So you find yourself driving down Interstate 40 one day in December. It’s a beautiful sunny day with snow on the ground, yet not cold enough to keep you inside all day. The thought of the New Year pops into your head when something grabs your attention on the horizon. Your hands tighten on the steering wheel as you lean forward, trying to make out what it is. It grows larger with every exit you...
